districts of Delhi

[edit]

looks much better this way and is easier to read,

but I think you should change "Main Localities" to "Subdivions".

As is stated in the article "Each district ... has three subdivisions. A Subdivision Magistrate heads each subdivision."

Of course one find these main localities in the subdivion, that in the table ((but not always in the links !!)) the whole subdivision is meant. --85.178.88.110 (talk) 17:35, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of History of Ranchi, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://ranchi.nic.in/history.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

For your contributions to India-related articles especially List of Delhi metro stations.

WikiProject India can not go beyond the grade "list". You can improve this list by asking for suggestions on WP:Peer Review and then go for a WP:Featured List nomination at WP:FLC.--Redtigerxyz Talk 13:02, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Jagannath Temple (disambiguation

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Jagannath Temple (disambiguation. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Jagannath Temple (disambiguation). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Jagannath Temple (disambiguation) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 04:35, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moving templates

[edit]

Hi World8115, Thanks for your suggestion. I am checking and fixing the double redirects on the templates in case of renaming/moving templates along with the links (lists/groups) present in the template. In case of new templates, I first create in my user subpage (sandbox) and then move to the actual template. Pls do let me know if the above checks will suffice. Appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.Thaejas (talk) 07:10, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Have seen your changes in the Template:Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh. Thanks for the good work of arranging them district wise. Suggest that the color used for groups be similar to the ones used for other templates like Template:Hindu temples in Haryana. The blue color is plesant to the eyes than the orange color. Also, the word "district" in the districts can be removed. Do let me know if you need my help in doing so.Thaejas (talk) 14:45, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks once again. I mean to remove the word "district" and link the name to a district as Visakhapatnam and as in the other templates Template:Hindu temples in Haryana. Right now all the districts are not linked. It would be better to remove the word "district" as, when any user points the mouse to the link, it displays the district.Thaejas (talk) 15:04, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Thanks for the changes. Yes. I do agree. But as you can see, by not mentioning the district, the space consumed is very less and also aptly describes the name of the district. As the list grows with all the temples, it would be required to split the temples in district wise in future. Moreover, there is one district Nellore district, without a redirect to actual page Sri Amarajeevi Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore district, which requires much space.Thaejas (talk) 15:32, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, World8115. Good to see your comments. Regarding the district name for the article, you can start a discussion in the talk page of the article. Regarding your other point, suggest that red links should be present in the articles. This is because, when any wikipedia editor refers to the links, they can create the page for the missing article (and need not edit the template). Hence the red links are requried to be filled up with articles (also shows how much expansion can be done in wikipedia articles). You can refer to the list of temples in India at List of Hindu temples in India. You will find a lot of missing articles yet to be created. Thaejas (talk) 15:57, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Keep up the good work.. Hope to see a better wikipedia soon with editors like you.Thaejas (talk) 16:13, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi World8115, Good to see your editing on the List of Hindu temples in India. Suggest you can do the following whenever you have time.

  • Sort the temples alphabetically
  • Remove duplicate names
  • Remove redirects to links
  • Categorise by district

Hindi names

[edit]

World8115, Hindi names are not listed in most Indian city articles, see articles for major cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore. They are only listed for cities in Hindi speaking states. Thanks. 24.28.72.100 (talk) 13:39, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Climate charts

[edit]

Again, there are featured articles like Bangalore that have used climate charts. The tables dont make sense for India as there is not much variation in temperature, no real different seasons, so no need for colors. The rainfall graphs also show the monsoon's impact clearly. 24.28.72.100 (talk) 13:49, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

post deletion

[edit]

Hello,

I was just curious as to our reasons for the deleting of my last update? I assure you, I am not a "vandal". This is a magazine with an article I thought to be pertinant to the topic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Euzpr (talkcontribs) 13:28, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I recently reverted a good-faith edit you made to the India article. I have explained my reason in some detail on [Talk:India#Overlinking|the talk page]] and would appreciate your feedback/objections. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 02:53, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga

[edit]

I could not find a fine image of the temple on fickr. Found [1], Some other images of the temple seem to be copyright violations like scans of newspapers. Can you find a better one on flickr? If yes, give me its link, I will ask the copyright holder for permission.

For WP:NPOV, we must keep Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga a disambig as all claims should be considered as equals. Redirecting the article to one of the temples is non-neutral for the other two. --Redtigerxyz Talk 13:12, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delhi Metro Stations

[edit]

Need help in expanding previously created articles and in creating new articles. Also, upgrading the the templates of the respective lines and if possible images of as many Metro stations as possible. Thank you and Regards. --Johnxxx9 (talk) 08:25, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Added Parking Information to the Green line template. I need similar information on parking availability for stations on all lines. Thank you for creating all the articles. I have created the succession template for blue line with branches. Regards. --Johnxxx9 (talk) 18:20, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • New template for Blue Line complete. Template:Delhi Metro: Blue Line You can start creating articles from the bottom (ie Dwarka Sector 9) and on the Anand Vihar branch line. I will sort out some issues with the Delhi Metro Station info template and start creating articles from Mayur Vihar Extension (ie top). Regards.--Johnxxx9 (talk) 15:46, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Do not use "Infobox Delhi Metro station" because it is only a pass through to "Infobox station" which is complete and does not have any issues. I advised johnxxx9 on this before, but he has blindly followed templates that I made without understanding how they work or why they were created. The S-Line templates have similarly redundant entries. What does V= and W= mean johnxxx9? Secondarywaltz (talk) 16:28, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Largest cities of Bihar

This template, which you recently edited, is not linked to any articles - making it useless. I think this might have happened because of the renaming. Secondarywaltz (talk) 00:55, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

[edit]

Hello World8115. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium., a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Does not redirect to a different or incorrect namespace. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:39, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chhat(t)arpur

[edit]

Based on this, the actual name used on signage is "Chhatarpur" with two Hs and one T, so that's the correct name of the article as well. Jpatokal (talk) 07:37, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Odisha or Orissa

[edit]

As per an act of the parliament in the year 2010 www.prsindia.org/.../Orissa/The%20Orissa%20Alteration%20of%20Name%20Bill%202010.pdf Orissa is known as Odisha and Oriya will be known as Odiya. --AkkiDa 03:24, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Odisha Only

[edit]

Certain points in this article as brought out by you were pertinent to Sambalpur District not to Sambalpur city. That's why they were omitted. Sambalpur District is a separate article altogether. Regarding Odisha, I hope you have read the act of Parliament. As far as the use of Odisha goes please visit Bhubaneswar, Orissa History of Odisha etc.. Secondly once an act in parliament is passed nobody can disagree with it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Akshayapanigrahi (talkcontribs) 03:40, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sindhi Wikipedia

[edit]

Hello,

As a Sindhi speaker, would it be possible for you to join the Sindhi wikipedia? It has very few members and little has been translated. It is missing essential articles, including Mumbai, Gandhidam and Ulhasnagar which are places of residence for many Sindhi people! Could you please help?

Thanks. --92.2.112.31 (talk) 18:33, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
