Article Evaluation
[edit]I looked into evaluating the article titled "Income inequalities in the United States." While I found this article interesting, I thought many sections lacked information. More specifically, the "Education" section only has two sentences. So I pose the question: What is missing from the section? I would find articles discussing how wealthy families put their children in the best universities and even pay to get into private ones. Additionally, I would explain how the admission process is rigged from the start as middle-upper class families can afford tutors, extracurriculars, private schools, etc., to get their children better scores and grades. I would also touch on policies attempting to stop this, for example, the UC system banning SAT and ACT scores in their process. Katherinehalkias (talk) 22:47, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
Possible Articles to Work On
[edit]Denied trade screening: While going through a wikipedia wormhole, I discovered this article, which is flagged for sounding like an advertisement, sounding bias, and not fitting the wikipedia tone. It stood out to me in comparison to others due to its shortness and poor word choice stood out to me when I was skimming the article. I also find this very interesting so I would work very hard on it.
FixMyStreet: Seems like a very interesting idea, citizens reports local issues for government to fix, barely any information in article
E-democracy: This article doesn't seem like it needs a lot of work but just needs expansion. I'm drawn to this article because of its broadness. Rather than discussing a specific sector or business, this prevalent and growing topic of e-democracy should simply have more on its page. Katherinehalkias (talk) 02:57, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
