Speedy deletion nomination of Dagnis Vinogradovs
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dagnis Vinogradovs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Mootros (talk) 05:05, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Nomination of Craig Sullivan for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Craig Sullivan is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Craig Sullivan (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.Yngvadottir (talk) 17:58, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
The article Don Barbieri has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable, fails WP:POLITICIAN as losing candidate.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rusf10 (talk) 14:52, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 19:38, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I noticed you're relatively new here. I suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:Civility. In particular, it is very helpful to participate in a respectful and considerate way, pay attention to the positions and conclusions of your fellow editors, present coherent and concise arguments, and refrain from making personal attacks, and encourage others to do the same. Beginning a discussion with an accusation of disruptive editing and threatening blocking is not helpful. This is particularly the case when you simply disagree with whether the pages being created should be created now or later--even with the disagreement, there's hardly a good faith contention that creating them "disrupts progress toward improving an article or building the encyclopedia." When there is a difference of opinion, discussion is the best option to start with. I have started one at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Olympics#2020 qualification. Please feel free to contribute! -- Jonel (Speak to me) 01:48, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 18:32, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, making baseless accusations and threatening blocks to get your way in a content dispute. Good behavior, that. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 19:40, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Its quite disruptive to create articles which do not have any justification to exist. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 02:20, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- All of those articles have plenty of justification to exist. They match ones already existing for previous years. There is no question that they will exist. There is plenty of verifiable material available for each of them, well beyond what is appropriate for the sport page. Creating them is not disruptive--redirecting them is. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 09:09, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Tennis at 2020 Olympics
What you put in here was not the information published by the ITF. It was simply the text from the 2016 article crudly copied and pasted. Only the years were changed. No effort was even made to change the past tenses in the doubles sections.Tvx1 14:44, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- That's false. The stuff that stayed the same was copied and pasted. The stuff that changed was changed. Unless you think they used Ariake Tennis Park in 2016? Or that the PanAm games had anything to do with qualifying that year? Everything else is "fix it" territory, not "blank the whole damn article" territory. And I have no idea what you think the distinction between "qualified" and "eligible to enter" is--they're the same thing. People can decline their qualification spots. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 15:23, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- "Qualified" implied that they are entered in the draw at some point, "eligible to enter" does not. Look at how tennis tournaments work. Almost all of them have qualifying tournaments and once a player pass through one they are in the main event's draw. Using qualified here with regards to tennis is inappropriate. As for the article's contents, of course some details were updated. That doesn't take away the fact that it was crudely copied and pasted.Tvx1 19:02, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- So you're just making up definitions of "qualified" that aren't in use anywhere else, including the 2016 Olympic tennis article. Ok. Have fun with that. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 19:38, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

I've probably made a mess of the names of competitors for the wrestling ones I've worked on recently (1932 and 1936)—the ORs and S-R aren't great about full names (especially with diacritics) and I'm not sure I've gotten them cleaned up. Swimming at the Olympics
Hi Jonel,
Thank you for updating the swimming pages at the 2020 Summer Olympics. I deleted some unnecessary parts, but you reverted them for a reason. Do you want to add qualification and competition format in all swimming events from the previous editions, including London 2012 and Rio 2016? Raymarcbadz (talk) 11:17, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

- Alright, please do so. Thank you! Raymarcbadz (talk) 14:55, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
Templates
Mulit-sport and Olympic related articles are moving away from templates. If I remember correctly, during the 2018 Asian Games, I created multiple templates which were all later deleted and replaced with a new process. Instead of creating templates, each section is labelled for ex. see here [2]. Each game section is labelled then used on the respective tournament and country pages. This process is faster and also prevents the need to create 100's of templates. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 14:11, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- I had not seen that before. It doesn't seem to have been done with the 2016 Olympics, which is what I generally use as a base for creating older Games content and meta-content, and I'm not the only person who has started creating 2020 Olympics templates in these veins. But looking at the 2018 Asian Games field hockey example, my initial reaction is that I agree that the section approach would be better. It would especially be easier to convert old pages to the section format than the template format. Has there been a general discussion of the section vs. template format somewhere? If not, I would suggest having one to get other people's views as well. I will hold off creating templates for now. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 14:54, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Besides the deletion discussions, there hasn't been any discussions. There is no consensus, and I think making a discussion on this would be appropriate. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 16:05, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Demond Green shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Demond Greene prod
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.64.96.63 (talk) 18:06, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Template:Footer Olympic Champions - Artistic Gymnastics - Individual All-Around - Women and 1932 Summer Olympics
Hi,
I've noticed that you're particularly interested in contributing to Olympics-related articles, that is why I'm seeking your advice regarding QuakerIlK's edits 1, 2, 3 and whether they are substantive and referenced enough to be accepted on Wikipedia. Just asking to evaluate the situation from your perspective. Thank you. MartinYNA (talk) 10:15, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi there, Jonel. MartinYNA, although Jonel is of course 100% within his/her rights to offer an opinion on this issue, another single user's talk page is not exactly the most appropriate place to broach this issue. It belongs in a forum (the talk page of the article in question) or even in a deletion-related forum, so that a group consensus can be made. If you want to delete something on Wikipedia, there are a number of steps to be taken. These articles can give you some guidance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution Within that article, there is another article ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Third_opinion ) that hones in more specifically to what you are doing here on Jonel's talk page, although within that article, it states that the issue should be addressed on the appropriate article's talk page, first.QuakerIlK (talk) 15:19, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi again. Prior to discussing anything on a talk page I want to get some feedback from a more experienced editor who is unrelated to me. Maybe I'm in fact wrong to challenge the content you're trying to add as non-neutral and poorly sourced. In that case any further discussions are irrelevant. MartinYNA (talk) 17:30, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- I believe that your additions aren't encyclopedic, but let's wait and see. MartinYNA (talk) 17:32, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- Please take this to Talk:1932 Summer Olympics and Template talk:Footer Olympic Champions - Artistic Gymnastics - Individual All-Around - Women. For the template issue, I would recommend either a short pointer at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Olympics to the template talk page for added visibility, especially as this dispute seems to be something that would apply to multiple templates. -- Jonel (Speak to me) 21:50, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Mammoth work
What you started here to detail Italy's results in the individual editions of the Olympic Games and in each singles sports. Work, in my opinion, almost impossible to complete. Certainly not in a single page (it would be extremely burdensome), if anything, it should be split like I did in this one. --Kasper2006 (talk) 16:02, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
