The Use of the word "fuck" in PG-13 rated films is a common topic of discussion from movie viewers. Under Motion Picture Association of America rules, films may include only one use of the word "fuck" in a non-sexual context and still recieve a PG-13 rating.[1]

International differences

[edit]

In the United Kingdom, the British Board for Film Control looks at each individual case in context. An example of them deviating from the MPAA's definition was in The King's Speech where it was granted the equivalent 12A rating as the swearing was deemed to be used in a speech therapy context[2] whereas the MPAA rated it R in the United States before an edited version was released under PG-13.[3]
