Timothy McSharry Huber (born October 7, 2005), professionally known as Ghost Blade, is an American musician and composer.

Early life

Timothy McSharry Huber was born in New York City, New York, U.S.A. on October 7, 2005. He lived in the New York borough of Queens for the entirety of his early life.

He is the son of an Irish-American mother and an American father who is of Irish, British Isles, German, French Canadian, and Swedish descent. He has stated that all four of his maternal great-grandparents were Irish immigrants who settled in New York City during the early 1900s and his maternal grandparents were the first generation of their families to be born in the United States. Three of these ancestors were from the Connacht province and the fourth was from or from around Dublin. The greatest portion of his father's ancestors were Irish and he also has German, Scottish, French, and Swedish ancestry.

Huber was raised and remains a practicing Catholic.

He first started making music using GarageBand in the seventh grade and began using FL Studio during his freshman year of high school. After switching to FL he would learn various music skills including music theory, music production, how to play keyboard instruments, how to compose music and lyrics, vocals, and audio engineering. Between seventh grade and the end of his senior year of high school between the years 2017 to 2023 he released music under a variety of aliases across different internet platforms and streaming services. He began using the Ghost Blade name as his primary musical alias in late 2023.

Career

Initial work as Ghost Blade (2024)

The first album he released as Ghost Blade was a project called Ignite that was released on January 3, 2024. Throughout 2024 he released a total of 7 albums that spanned a wide range of genres and styles. He has stated that this period of projects was when he developed his skills as a musician to a "higher and completely different level" in comparison to his ability as an adolescent as it made him learn a wide. He cites the skills he developed during this time as including his utilization and performance of live instrumentation in his music (pianos, keyboards and synthesizers), composing more sophisticated and varied music that utilized a greater range of scales and time signatures, and greatly improve his abilities as an audio engineer, specifically mentioning that he significantly improved as a mastering engineer during this time.

The final album he released in 2024 is called Cobalt, which was released on December 1, 2024. The album was also the longest project he released during the year, consisting of 20 different songs.

Upcoming Work (2025)

Ghost Blade announced that he will concurrently begin working on two different albums in December of 2024 and plans to release them sometime in early 2025.

Life outside of music

Outside of music, Ghost Blade has trained in numerous combat sports and martial arts throughout his life. He first trained between the ages of 7 and 14 in karate, kickboxing, and boxing, but took a roughly four year hiatus between the ages of 14 and 18 due to doing other sports in high school. He resumed training in martial arts in university when a friend at university taught him the basics of grappling and jiu-jitsu during the spring of his freshman year, which led him to start attending a local gym his sophomore year.

He enrolled in Loyola University New Orleans in 2023 and is set to graduate in the spring of 2027.
