Engineer Arif Naseem Urdu: عارف نسیم (26-03-1979) known as Naseem,Some may see Naseem’s journey as as a high price to become the stuff of fantasy.[1] He passionately interested in the muscular form, movement, and power of the animals that He model. His aim to catch their vitality, nature and personality without compromising the anatomical integrity of the sculpture.

Biography

Arif Naseem is a born artist bestowed with the Divine gifted talents of art especially Sculpture. It was in his early teens that he started making sculptures of small animals, which were appreciated by his friends, teachers and family members. This artistic instinct, like an in-built capacity to explore new ideas and implement them by modeling into a physical shape went on along with his studies.

Early life

Arif Naseem is the son of Abdul Hakim Saiddiqi, born in Bazargi, Tehsil Chota Lahor, District Swabi Khyber Pukhtunkhwa on March,26,1979.[2]

He start paid some focused attention to the art and started making the statue of Khushal Khan Khattak riding on a horse on the request of Core Commander Nowshera which was later installed in front of Core Commander Office. This project proved to be the first drop of rain. Immediately after this Azad Kashmir Regimental Center ordered for a model of Combat Soldier in a perfect human size which was installed on the main gate of Regimental Center Mansar Camp Attock. Followed by this PAF Kamara Base requested to make an Eagle to be installed on one of its gates. Fortunately this Eagle still remains a glittering sign of art reflecting famous slogan of PAF, which was derived from Iqbal's couplet: Another masterpiece of the artist was the Horse Rider, which was prepared on the request of Core Commander of Nowshera, later installed in the Drill Ground, Nowshera Cantt. Similarly a multitude of others Sculptures and wall engravings showing tanks and army wagons driven by horses with soldiers charging on the enemy were made and displayed at different places. Another important work to be mentioned here is the mine detecting soldier at work, another artistic piece was the Jawan of Engineering Core operating drill, similarly a full size model of Tank were displayed on different spots at Engineering Core Center, Risalpur. All these works were applauded by the authorities concerned and appreciation certificates were awarded to the artist which no doubt are source of honor for an artist. Along with the above activities some other worth while projects were also taken over by the artist. For example the statue of Jamaima Khan, ex-spouse of the popular politician and cricketer which was presented to the Chairman of Tahreek-e-Insaaf Imran Khan. Side by side these activities are some other positive and creative steps like; running an Art Academy specialized in sculpture and participating in the exhibitions held from time to time at NCA,Lok Virsa and else where.
