In An Daingean Uí Chuis the tradition of the Dreoilín is still extremely strong. Tonight, they are making their preparations. Your link on the wrenboy tradition in Corca Dhuibhne is excellent. To many, the famous Sigerson Clifford (1913-1985) song, The Boys of Barr na Sráide is without doubt the finest tribute to the Wrenboys ever penned:

'O the town it climbs the mountain and looks upon the sea

And sleeping time or waking time 'tis there I long to be

To walk again that kindly street, the place I grew a man

With the boys of Barr na Sráide who hunted for the wran.

With cudgels stout we roamed about to hunt for the dreoilín.

Merge Wren Day and Wrenboys articles?

Support. The two articles contain much overlapping, common text. There is a redundancy committed by having both articles. I propose that Wren Day is the higher concept so any useful detail from the subsidiary Wrenboys article should be incorporated into the Wren Day article, with the Wrenboy entry redefined as a redirection page pointing to Wren Day. 174.16.28.60 (talk) 21:55, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
