Even Georgian sources say that it is a dish of Georgian-Abkhazian origins

[edit]

The notion of "Abkhazia" region of Georgia as a place of origin without the mention of Abkhazians as an ethnic group don't make sense, considering the long history of cohabitation among two ethnic groups in the region. Moreover, this relevance is shared by Kopeshavidze, a Georgian, in his "Abkhazian Cuisine" book. So is told by the official Georgian travel website, The word "Adjika" translates from abkhazian as "salt"

Therefore, I am changing to include Abkhazia until consensus is reached.
