Chromakopia is the upcoming seventh[a] studio album by American rapper and producer, Tyler, the Creator.[1] The album is set to release on October 28, 2024.[2][3]

Background

[edit]

On October 16, 2024, Tyler released a teaser on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter titled "St. Chroma", which is expected to be the first song of the record. At the end of the video, the album's name, Chromakopia, is revealed. A day later, on October 17, Tyler revealed the cover art for the album and its expected release date.[2]

The album is likely based on the character Chroma the Great from The Phantom Tollbooth, a conductor whose orchestra creates the colors of the world.[4] The teaser video is at first black and white as he is directing people into a shipping container. He then blows it up, adding color to the video.

Teaser

[edit]

The teaser is speculated to be the music video for "St. Chroma", although this is not confirmed. The video has a sepia filter for the majority of the video. It depicts a masked Tyler leading a line of 8 men, where he steps out of the line and points the men to go inside a green shipping container with the Chromakopia logo on the front. When all the men are inside, Tyler presses a button and detonates the container, and the sepia filter disappears.[5] At the end of the teaser, it reveals a green background, with the name of the album, Chromakopia in its respective font.
