Adrien B. Beard (born October 13, 1969)[1] is an American voice actor, storyboard artist, producer, and director. He provides the voice of Tolkien (Token) Black in South Park, as well as serving as the art director and lead storyboarder on the series.[2]

Beard had won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on South Park and has been nominated for two others.[3]

Personal life

Beard was born in Los Angeles County to a father born in Santa Monica.[1][4] Adrien grew up in Altadena and Orange County.[4] Beard excelled in art at El Toro High School, and studied art at ArtCenter College of Design.[4] He dropped out of ArtCenter, lived in and lived in his Volkswagen car, and eventually saved up money to attend California Institute of the Arts.[4] In 2021, Beard renovated his Altadena, California loft apartment to give a "Neo Afro Eclecticism" aesthetic.[4]
