Iirimaa Kuningriigi vapp

Iirimaa monarhia oli Iirimaa saarel võimul olnud monarhia. Monarhia lõppes Iirimaal 1949. aastal kui võeti vastu Iiri Vabariigi seadus, millega kaotati viimased sidemed Suurbritannia monarhiaga. Iirimaa saare põhjaosas asuv Põhja-Iirimaa kuulub Suurbritannia koosseisu ning seal kehtib endiselt monarhia.

Kuni 12. sajandi teise pooleni oli Iirimaal võimul Iirimaa kõrge kuningas, kes kukutati anglonormannide sissetungiga, kui Iirimaast sai Püha Tooli läänivaldus Inglise kuninga võimu all. Reaalsuses jagati saar Inglise aadlike vahel ja iirlased kas küüditati või orjastati. Sissetungist hoolimata jäi Iirimaale veel sajanditeks mõningaid väiksemaid iirlaste kuningriike, kuid nende juhid ei nimetanud ennast Iirimaa kuningateks. Olukord muutus kui Iirimaa parlament andis Inglise reformatsiooni käigus Iirimaa kuninga krooni Inglise kuningale Henry VIII-le. Henry korraldas Iirimaale sõjakäigu ning allutas lõpus kogu Iirimaa Inglismaa kuningale.

Aastal 1603 laienes kroonide uniooniga personaalunioon ka Šotimaale. Aastal 1707 sai Acts of Union 1707-ga Inglise-Šoti personaalunioonist poliitiline ühendus ja tekkis Suurbritannia Kuningriik. Iirimaa ja Suurbritannia jäid personaaluniooni kuni 1800. aasta Acts of Union 1800-ni, millega tekkis Suurbritannia ja Iirimaa Ühendkuningriik.

Detsembris 1922 lõi enamik Iirimaast Suurbritanniast lahku ja rajati Iiri Vaba Riik. Uus Põhja-Iirimaa ehk suur osa Ulsteri provintsist jäi Ühendkuningriigi koosseisu. Vaba Riik oli Briti impeeriumi dominioon ning seal jäi de jure võimule Briti monarh. Aastal 1927 sai Suurbritannia ja Iirimaa Ühendkuningriigist ametlikult Suurbritannia ja Põhja-Iirimaa Ühendkuningriik. Aastal 1937 võttis Iirimaa vastu uue põhiseaduse, kust eemaldati kõik viited monarhiale. Aprillis 1949 kuulutati Iiri Vaba Riigi asemel välja Iirimaa Vabariik, mis lahkus Rahvaste Ühendusest.
