Reception

[change | change source]

The movie recieved positive reviews from critics. Anime News Network rated the movie a A− and said that it was a "step in the right direction".[7] The fight scenes with Naruto and Sasuke were praised, with critics saying it was one of the best parts of the movie. However some did not like the villains and said that they were forgettable, as well as the movie not exploring the relationship between Boruto and his father Naruto deeply enough.[8][9]

The movie was also very successful financially. It would become the highest-grossing opening for a Naruto movie, earning ¥680.1 million yen in its opening day. It would end up earning ¥2.02 billion in 19 days of release.[1]
