Curate
In various Christian religions that possess an ordained ministry, a curate is a priest who is not a parish priest but who operates, in effect, as the parish priest's deputy. Some larger parishes may have more than one curate. Most curates eventually become a parish priest in another parish as the older priests retire or die.
