Jorge González (musician)

Jorge González was the lead singer, bassist]] and main songwriter of the Chilean band Los Prisioneros. Besides being the lead singer, he mainly played the bass guitar and synthesizers while in Los Prisioneros but eventually would play electric or acoustic guitar during songs which required two guitars. A synthesized playback bass would be programmed to play during these songs.
After Los Prisioneros disbanded in 1991, he went on to begin a solo career. His first album self titled was released in 1993 and recieved mixed reviews but was successful. His second album, El Futuro Se Fue was a dissappointing release and did poorly in the charts. In present day, the album is seen on a much more positive light than when it was released. In 1999, Jorge put out his final solo album until he reunited with Los Prisioneros in 2001, the album was "Mi Destino: Confessiones de una estrella de rock". The album was received a lot more positively than "El Futuro Se Fue". The first single for the album was "Me Pagan Por Rebelde". After doing some promoting for the album, Los Prisioneros reunited only at least a year after Jorge's last solo album.
As of 2006, Jorge Gonzalez has done a lot of live shows working with electronic dance music and has worked with many known musicians in the electronic music scene, to name one, Sussie 4. Since he now lives in Mexico with his family he is able to work easily a long fellow electronic music composers. He has said at the moment he doesn't see himself putting out a new solo album, but that he is working on music since Los Prisioneros broke up as he said "Not working on any new music starts to kill me" (during a recent interview with Rolling Stone Chile).
