Punya Thitimajshima is a Thai professor in telecommunications engineering at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology at Ladkrabang who is the coinventor of a groundbreaking coding scheme called turbo codes.

He is the recipient of the 1998 IEEE Information Theory Society Golden Jubilee Award.
