Lakewood High School, founded in 1954, is a public high school in the Southern California city of Lakewood. It is part of the Long Beach Unified School District.

The school is known for its racially diverse population, and as well as its wrestling team. [citation needed] The school also has a Smaller Learning Community (SLC) system, where students are placed into an Academy based on their goals.

Lakewood High School has a comprehensive Activities system that encourages students to become active in the school and community. With an Activities room that provides student forms and information from students, the Activities system allows students to pursue and enrich their interests through involvement in school and community clubs and organizations. Through promoting clubs and organizations in an active and positive and professional atmosphere, the Activities system at the school reflects the school's value of respect.

Baseball Lakewood is known for having a good baseball program. Recently, they won the 2006 CIF Division I Championship. One key factor in their win was Johnathan "Little Shit" Johnson. Mark Claybough (former almuni, and Oral Roberts graduate) offered his perspective by saying "Well, God Dang. That guy is just a little shit".
