Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Emijrp/Archive 001! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk Pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan 10:39, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Welcome to the English Wikipedia! You should probably put your Babel up, so others know you don't speak English on the native level. Ryan 10:49, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Hola

Hi Emijrp, Thanks for welcoming me to es.wiki (and for supporting my bot). Let me in turn welcome you to en.wiki. They appear to have two very different philosophies! Dlyons493 Talk 22:12, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Telephone Industry

Thanks for the alerting me about this article that the bot created. It was created using Census data. I will revisit these and delete them after the bot completes its run. Thanks, Ganeshk (talk) 06:53, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome template

It is a good idea to welcome only the users that have at list one edit, what kind of approach have you implemented to check when a user makes her first edit? User:Paulatz 13:27, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Articles lacking image which might be available in Commons in Esperanto-Wikipedia

Hello, I appreciate much your help in finding articles in Esperanto Wikipedia which might be lacking images available in Commons. Yet, your list is very preliminary. Would it be a lot of work to produce a complete (or at least an "almost complete") list of these articles? This would help us a lot! Alaudo 07:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC) (Sysop in Esperanto-Wikipedia).[reply]

One more thank you...

... for the list of missing pics in articles from the Portuguese Wikipedia! I'm starting to add some. PatríciaR 130.237.94.192 13:19, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks: Galipedia (gl.wiki)

I want to thank you very much too for this idea! I'm using it as a "every day working schedule" for my editing in the portuguese wikipedia. Great idea! Greetings!--Vitor Madeira 17:41, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lepe

Ohhhh!! Sorry about that. I misunderstood your delete request for Lepe. I thought you wanted to simply delete the redirect. I didn't understand that you wanted to move the other page to Lepe. My bad... —Wknight94 (talk) 19:48, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fondón, Spain?

Why did you remove the {{R from alternate name}} tag from Fondón, Spain redirect page? You didn't give any reason in the edit summary, so I'm curious. –RHolton21:16, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I understand your point. No, I will not add tags to redirects in the User or User Talk namespaces. What does that have to do with the tag at Fondón, Spain, which is in the main namespace? You may not think the tag is necessary, but certainly that alone is not a reason to remove it. –RHolton11:39, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am working (with others) to categorize many redirect pages. The fact that some pages have not yet been categorized is not a valid reason to remove the categorization from the pages that have them.–RHolton12:41, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm...This is the first I've seen of Template:Wi. Note that it does put the page into Category:Redirects to Wiktionary. However, I'm not clear on your question...it appears that a word got omitted.–RHolton13:13, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that many of the {{Wi}} templates have been added using "subst:", so the template isn't in the article, but the contents of the template is. Is that what you're talking about? As far as the article being "valid"—I'm not sure what you mean. Personally, I'm with those who think these pages should be deleted, but that doesn't seem to be the consensus. Please forgive me if I haven't yet answered your question. Perhaps an example would help.–RHolton14:04, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining that for me. Yes, I see and agree. I think I'll make a note of that on the appropriate pages. –RHolton16:12, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help with formatting the new composer articles I recently created, I will fix them right away :)

Your user page in pt:Wikipedia

Hola,

I hope you don't mind, but we (several people in the Portuguese Wikipedia) have been using your user page over there to not only edit out the entries we put imagens in, but also post some general recommendations on how to put images in the articles. As you requested, I translated the text you had before into Portuguese. Tell me if there's any problem with this. My best regards, 130.237.94.192 11:27, 28 July 2006 (UTC) (PatríciaR)[reply]

Commons:1901

You created the article "1901" on the Commons-- but every image you put there was NOT from year 1901. Why did you do this? I reverted the article to a redirect to the category. -- Infrogmation 17:31, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see additional messages on your commons talk page. Thank you. -- Infrogmation 18:17, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Commons:Wikiproject Time

Hi. I have started Commons:Commons:Wikiproject Time to discuss suggested procedures for what should or shouldn't go in year articles, categories, and related issues. We seem to have come into conflict with very different conceptions of the year articles; I hope we can share our thoughts with others interested in improving such things on the Commons and work out an agreed way to do things. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 18:05, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ooops. Nice to meet you back here! I thought you were completely missing forever ever. --byj 17:36, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Surfing the Wikipedia, a message of yours drove me to your deleted page and I saw the link. I was in a hurry these late days thinking what I would do without your handy advice if getting in trouble with templates. :) Hmm, I could open the Gaim too, I think... byj 18:10, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grifo mágico

I am not sure that your photo of the Magic Tap fits within the scope of the Optical Illusion article as it is presently written. (I am leaving it there for the now.) But it would be a great addition to an article about the city where it can be found. If there is more information about the sculpture itself, maybe an article should be written about it.

In the right context, I think it would deserve a nomination to featured picture status.
