Attention Admins:

This IP is shared by ALL users on MaxOnline, StarHub Cable Vision Ltd, i.e. many hundreds of thousands, maybe millions using this ISP, which is Singapore's largest broadband ISP. Please consider this before you block! There are vandals using this ISP as can be seen on this talk page, but also many legitimate and registered users that WILL be blocked if you block this IP. Please be considerate and only block for repeated and ongoing vandalism, and please do not block for more than 15 minutes at a time except in extreme cases.

This IP has more users than each AOL IP, and each user uses each IP only once per page view; this is a SHARED proxy/filter/block censoring some sites for Singaporean users.

To the user:
If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this is the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. The proxy is shared among a huge number of users. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.
APNIC WHOIS database information

Admins, please refrain from blocking this IP address. This IP is shared by almost all Singapore Internet users (Singapore's population is over 4 million). Blocking it will prevent all Singaporeans from using Wikipedia, resulting in massive collateral damage.

If you have been affected by a block to this IP, please sign below. In addition, please sign to support Wikipedia:Blocking policy proposal. Thank you.

Vandalism

To Singaporean vandalisers - stop it. You are only making a bad example of Singapore to the world, considering Wikipedia is worldwide. Already, the Western countries are talking of us as "the country which caned the boy and banned the chewing gum". You want them to add "vandalised the biggest encyclopedia on a daily basis"? Think before you act, please. I know for a fact that the HCI Sec 3 batch has many vandals. --Terrancommander 06:26, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heehee. If Singapore gets a bit of airtime for being "Wikipedia vandalisers", it certainly draws attention away from our idiotic leaders and our miserable human rights record. --202.156.6.54 12:46, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

Hello! I'm glad you're contributing to Singapore general election, 2006. However, I have had to restore a few sections you removed, because there was no explanation. It is recommended to use a edit summary to explain changes. Also, avoid needless capitalisation of occupations. Cheers! Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 14:34, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others. Thank you. Antonrojo 16:41, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest adding edit summaries or comments on the discussion page to provide support for your edits, especially if they are difficult to verify. Antonrojo 17:16, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. While I don't think it's notable, and so shouldn't be part of the Wikipedia, if you want to add your snippet about alternative meanings of DDT, it would make more sense to add them to DDT (disambiguation). Adding Spam to the RuneScape Article

Hello there. I'm sorry, but the fansite link you added to RuneScape (or a related article) has been removed. It has been decided that only one fansite link, to the site with most traffic, is to be included in the article. This is due to to a controversy some time ago, after a very large collection of fansite links built up in the article. For more information, please see Wikipedia's, or the Meta-Wiki's rules on external links. If you would like to change the fansite link, please discuss it first at the article's discussion page, or at the RuneScape portal. Thanks, J.J.Sagnella 06:10, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Undeletion Request

{{user recovery}}

Dear Deathphoenix...several users and I have been in charge of an article called Kai Wong and we have spent many days and hours on it. We have complied with Wikipedia rules but this page has frequently been vandalized by other Administrators who are racist or worse still deleted. These deletions have been carried out without any discussion and I fear fascism of information. As none of us are Administrators, we are unable to undelete this page. Could you kindly do this? Muchas gracias, thank you very much and have a nice day.

Suggestion

I supposedly come from this IP, I think. Is it possible for Wikimedia Foundation to block the entire IP, but allow usernames from this IP to log on? Like that, you require a username to work, but IP cannot. I know there is a failed vote to stop IPs from editing, but is it possible to make certain IPs not edit except for their registered users? I have been blocked once from Wikipedia and thrice from Uncyclopedia so far. --Terrancommander 06:21, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Today. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. -- Alf melmac 15:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
