There is a lot of good content here, but I wonder about the title. I research these phenomena professionally, and nowhere in the scholarly literature have I encountered this term, "ethnoconvergence." Moreover, the article does not provide any account of who introduced the term and who uses it. I raise this point not only as a suggestion for how to improve the article, but also because I wonder why the article is called "ethnoconvergence" when it seems to be describing transculturation. People have been calling this process transculturation ever since Ortiz introduced the term in the 1940s. I tried a google search of "ethnoconvergence" and found no hits; I tried "transculturation" and found 3,780.Slrubenstein

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ETHNOCONVERGENCE. What does this tell people about the article, and its intent? We are trying to write an encyclopedia here, not a personal thesis. -- RK

Im seeing things RK's way. Theres got to be some sorta sinister agenda behind this. No doubt financed by extremist fundamentalist Islamist terrorists. -Stevert

can you see things my way -- and explain why I can't find the term "ethnoconvergence" in any of my books or on google, but I do find it here? And can you explain why there is no discussion of Ortiz? Slrubenstein

Upon reflection, youre gonna have to lighten up on the neologisms thing, here. They seem like they come with the territory, and Im sure youre not just following me around in your quest to purge wikipedia of neologia. If the article is well enough written, then just buy it. Make it better. Express yourself. Alfred Einstein says on a popular poster - "Imagination is more important than gnawledge" . Besides I dont have Lexis Nexis or any other real access other than the web to validate my "imaginary" insinuations. Im happy if they make sense at all - if in English, even better. A frank and turbiastic response is all I can muster right now. Be well..
