Hi Pumpie. Did you take a second look at Prefecture of Elia yet? I made it look like several other country subdivision articles I wrote already. Do you like that design? I am still busy with german districts, thai provinces as well as brazilian states, so it'd be good if you would do more on the greek prefectures. I am only not sure about the english name of that prefecture - I found both spellings Ilia and Elia; do you have the greek spelling (you can add greek letters as well here).
Another note: your new List of Prefectures in Greece and Prefectures of Greece are duplicate article. However most of the links in the second one point to articles about cities or long outdated articles, so it needs quite a bit of work as well. andy 20:25, 19 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Hello pumpie, It is helpful to other users if you can write a quick summary for each edit you make. This way we can read your summary instead of search for your changes :) Kingturtle 18:09, 21 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I'm just a starter, and I am a kid and a boy genius just like Jimmy Neutron, I am from the Free Universe.

Is there any article about highways in Greece, or dialing or area code listings in Greece, yet?

Do you have a complete listins of highways over there? is there a complete listings about area codes of the world, "geniuses" there?

How are going to update this first names article in order format?

Is there any information about a list of radio stations anywhere? Pumpie 22:45, 30 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I don't like it to be double-the-line but single-the-line on every article, please, it made us dizzy? Pumpie 23:24, 5 Oct, 2003 (UTC)

When will the allwiki.org will be running? Pumpie, 21:20, 11 Oct 2003 (UTC)

When is this notice abotu finding a word on wiktionary to becoma any easier, like school to an Italian wikipedia for scuola, in the form of [it(/\)scuola] which is simply scuola on written texts, when will this [language(/\)word] thing will happen? Pumpie 21:31, 12 Oct 2003 (UTC)

When will mapquest.com/kids run. Go put back the railroad systems of the state of Canada on, and the expressways of Brazil. Remove advertising, and mapquest.com/kids will run only children's advertising like "Sonic the Hedgehog". Second, all rivers and streams of Canada has to be named, and third All roads and local streets, trails, and rivers and streams has to be on for Oceania, and South Africa. When will this be happening?

Here are my chatrooms That I will be doing incase there isn't any room left unless we have a super-cord connected from goodly little known planets from outer space to turn this page into one, so we can have more room in the future.

This is my chatroom for users born after 1985: Pumpie's chatrooms

I'm moving this to your user talk page. If you really want to be an admin (nothing but work, no benefits), re-apply after a month or so.

Pumpie

Pumpie would like to become an administrator for Wikipedia. I will protect pages from vandalism, and I will may or possibly add Phases IV and V if necessary, and I may have ability to write using Greek and Cyrillic fonts as well. I may even create Wikipediatlas too.

I oppose this as I don't believe Pumpie has obtained a good understanding of Wikipedia yet. He has created inappropriate pages such as List of baby names and has been impolite when such pages are listed are listed for deletion; Greek names of states for example. He has also created sock puppet accounts in order to vote at VfD [1]. Here's quote from my talk page:

Our friend User:67.60.17.122 a.k.a. User:Pumpie appears to be obsessive about creating list while doing little or nothing to create content. We're also familiar with his efforts on Wiktionary where he is trying to list every imaginable given name. He's a young kid who doesn't seem to understand how much work he's generating for others. • Oppose for now. Sock puppet creators should not be sysops for a reasonable period after the offence. Erik's advice of putting it off for a month or so is worthwhile. Maybe we do need to develop a policy as to how long after being caught stacking up sock puppet votes it should be before that person can be nominated to become a sysop. • I will probably create Wikipediatlas, and I will like to write with other texts with a mini-button which allows to write texts (Greek, Cyrilic, Japanese, etc.) someday.

Pumpie, I've moved this from RFA. It might be best for you to wait for someone else to nominate you before applying again as nominating yourself evey week isn't likely to help. You might find it useful to read the pages linked to from the Administrators' reading list to get more of an idea of what being a sysop entails. Angela. 22:02, Feb 22, 2004 (UTC)

  • I would like to become an administrator since I have done over a 100 edits when I am logged in.
    • Oppose. Your statement simply tells us how many edits you have. How do we know if you can be trusted as an admin with just that statement? As I've said countless times all over the 'pedia, # of edits != Trust. Furthermore, you didn't specify a reason for any edits, which makes it all the more difficult to understand what your intentions were with each edit you've made. Elaborate a bit and I may change my vote. Metasquares 19:41, 21 Feb 2004 (UTC)
  • How many times does Pumpie have to ask and get voted down? Opppose. RickK 06:03, 22 Feb 2004 (UTC)
  • Not a vote: asking so frequently makes people want you NOT to be an administrator. silsor 08:04, Feb 22, 2004 (UTC)
  • Oppose, if he gets it then I'd deserve it too! Walter Simons

Hi, Pumpie. I think a week is far too soon to ask again! I suspect a number of people feel like Silsor, that asking over and over will annoy people and not help your case. Is there some great reason to rush to be an admin? I'd suggest you just spend your time being a good contributor and editor here. Don't resubmit yourself for, say 6 months-- do a good job here and someone else may beat you to it and nominate you first. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 01:47, 29 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Pumpie: If you don't ask to become an admin for 6 months, I will support you. Perl 02:57, 29 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Is there a user that can develop some bots over here? Pumpie 9:40 (EAST), 14:40 (UTC)

I see no reason to make a Pumpiebot; whatever bot I'm using will be Robbot. As for developing a bot: The code of Robbot is open, and you are free to use it or develop your own bot from it. If you have a good idea, you are invited to bring it forward on the email list (see http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/pywikipediabot-users ), and perhaps I or someone else is willing to write it for or with you. - Andre Engels 16:41, 20 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Next question answered at my own talk page. - Andre Engels 21:14, 21 Mar 2004 (UTC)

  • I have a unit to add and probably to add some Greek, Cyrilic texts on the right, including other alphabets ans syllabary if highlighted to add. (For example: A word like hgeinoj, and so on and if highlihgted, and I click the Greek alpha button, it translates into Greek alphabet, and becomes igeinos. - Pumpie - 14:42, Mar 26, 2004 (UTC)

Hi Pumpie, What's the deal with your last few contributions about the Bernese Oberland and railways? Did you copy&paste babelfish translations without checking? No sentence is grammatically correct and only half of them make sense. You did even translate place names literally (Engelberg is not angel mountain and Interlaken is not intersheets)! Please stick to languages and topics you know something about, you're only creating additional work for the other editors. --Zumbo 18:56, 13 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the changes I made to your page at Allmendingen before making new pages of the same type. Thue 20:51, 26 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pumpie, re Megara; I can't quite make sense of the following: "There is a bridge (to some residents) that will connect the island with the mainland, but is not yet planned." Is the bridge there now? Djnjwd 19:20, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • It is uncertain and the bridge is not there, distance from Pachi to the island of Salamis is about 200 to 250 m. - Pumpie, 13:34 (UTC)

Brazilian city articles

Pumpie, I've noticed that many of the articles on Brazilian cities that you've uploaded have many spelling and punctuation errors. Are you proofreading these? If not, you're creating a lot of work for others who have to clean up after you. Joyous 14:44, Sep 19, 2004 (UTC)

Your good intentions of translating the German article to include it into the english wikipedia are noted, but it seems like you don't speak any German, so your translation was not much better than Babelfish nonsense translations. Such translations don't help, they only create work for others, so I think you'd better don't continue those. There are still enough topics to be covered for which you can find english sources. andy 19:28, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I don't see the point in creating the articles on the villages which contain nothing more than just population and district data, that's IMHO not what belongs in a encyclopedia. But anyway, please translate Gemeinde as municipality, Stadt as town, and only Großstadt (i.e. a Stadt with more than 100,000 citizen) as city. andy 22:26, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hey, a lot of these articles you're importing from other Wikipedias have broken interwiki links: because the English Wikipedia does not use Unicode for article titles, you can't just copy accented symbols into the text and have the Interwiki work. See for example the versions of Großbartloff or Küllstedt before my changes - the de: link is broken. —Stormie 04:43, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)

It's a waste of time trying to convince Pumpie, he won't listen anyway. --Voyager ch 11:06, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I didn't know this, I thought it was also convertible on unicode so when a non-unicode link, I thought it would be changed to unicode when surfing into another language. - Pumpie, 13:26 Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)

Machine translations

If you continue using machine translations, you will inevitably be put on RFC by someone. And I assure you that won't help you get adminship. Please stop it. — David Remahl 16:58, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I totally agree with David. Stop this nonsense! --Voyager ch 18:30, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
