Summerslam is an annual World Wrestling Entertainment pay-per-view event. The first Summerslam was held on August 29, 1988 in Madison Square Garden in New York City. At Summerslam 1997, Stone Cold Steve Austin had his neck broken when Owen Hart botched a piledriver. At Summerslam 2002, Shawn Michaels made his return to the ring in an unsanctioned match against Triple H.
