Swedish jarls
Jarl was medieval Swedish title (see earl) which conventionally was next to the ing and only one jarl could exists at a time.

Members of so-called Bjelbo family became usual holders of jarlship in 11th century and the title was subsumed to duke and powers merged in crown sometime in 1270's.
Birger jarl was called Dux sweciae, in Swedish meant riksjarl.

- Folke the Fat of Bjelbo, supporter of Inge I of Sweden, first of Bjelbo family to become earl
- Guttorm jarl, presumably during Charles VII of Sweden
- Birger Brosa of Bjelbo, grandson of Folke the Fat, riksjarl 1174-1202. Died 1202. His maternal grandson Jon Sverkersson has been reported to have inherited the title. But three of his sons were Jarls, Knut and Folke.
- Knut Birgersson, killed in 1208 at the battle of Lena
- Folke jarl, son of Birger Brosa. Jarl 1202?-1210.
- Johan Sverkersson, Jon, in 1210-1216. Became king 1216-1222.
- Sune Folkesson, son of Folke jarl Birgersson
- Birger jarl Sverige's last riksjarl 1248-1266. Won the position in 1248 from his cousin Ulf Fase.
- the future Magnus III of Sweden was Duke of Sweden after his father (with essentially the powers of hitherto riksjarl) until he deposed his elder brother Valdemar I of Sweden and himself became king
