Former Shamrock Rovers striker Noel Hunt moved to Dunfermline Athletic in a £100,000 deal on January 27 2003. Shamrock needed the money to help build their new stadium. A Republic of Ireland U21 international who did enough at the end of the season to win Dunfermline's Young Player of the Season award.

Noel is now an established first-team player for The Pars under Jim Leishman, striking up a formiddable partnership with Mark Burchill. Noel is loved by the fans for his passion and work-rate, as well as his vast array of skills that he offers. Having already been scouted by Chelsea and Real Madrid, it will not be long before he becomes world-renknowned on the world stage.
