Performing Arts

Recognized as a performing arts academy by The Miami-Dade County School Board, the national award-winning band program at Hialeah-Miami Lakes provides students with a musical education in the areas of wind, percussion, jazz, and guard studies. The Director of Bands is Mr. Eloys George, Jr. The Lakes Jazz Band has achieved consecutive straight superior ratings at the district and state levels for over a decade. Aside from continuously receiving distinguished ratings from the Florida Bandmasters Association, HML Bands have achieved Grand Champion status for the past seven consecutive years at band festivals around the continental United States, most notably at Fiesta-val Music Invitationals.
