Paul Colman

Paul Colman, (born August 22 1968 in London, England), is an British-Australian pop-rock guitarist, vocalist, pianist and composer.

He has made a name for himself as a Christian musician independently, with his band Paul Colman Trio, and recently with the Newsboys.

Early Life

Paul was born and raised in London, but when Paul turned 7, his father felt called to leave his succesful life of theatre and music for a life of ministry back in Australia. Paul's father is Australian but his mother is British. Paul Colman thus began his musical career living in Melbourne, Australia. Colman started his first band when he was 11 years old. During the first part of his life, Colman did not take music too seriously and focussed on his career as a High School teacher teaching History, English and Religion.

Paul Colman's musical career began in 1994.

Paul Colman Trio

In 1998, Paul Colman began the Paul Colman Trio, or "PC3" in Melbourne, Australia. It has been credited as the forefront of the Contemporary Christian Music scene in Australia. Their debut single "Fill My Cup" ranked #3 on TRAA and attracted more than 1000 people for each CD launch in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Newsboys

Paul Colman joined the Newsboys in 2006 replacing the main guitarist Bryan Oleson who went on to focus on his band Casting Pearls.

Personal life

Paul Colman currently lives with his wife Rebecca and daughters Katherine "Katie" and Elizabeth "Elly" in Nashville, TN.

Trivia

As a teenager, Peter Furler used to play drums sometimes for Paul Colman's father in Australia.
