In the Book of Mormon, Jacob (Hebrew יעקב Ya‘ăqōbh, Ya'akov "Holder of the heel; supplanter") is a younger brother of the Prophet Nephi, and becomes the Prophet himself after Nephi's passing. The Book of Jacob is purportedly written by him.
