Enhanced interior gateway routing protocol (EIGRP) is a Cisco proprietary routing protocol based on their original IGRP. It is able to deal with classless interdomain routing which is its main advantage over its predecessor. Its main disadvantage is that it only runs on Cisco equipment which may lead to an organisation being locked in to this vendor.
