WBXK-CA (channel 8) is Jackson, Mississippi's Urban America TV affiliate. It began broadcasting in January, 1990 as W08CU, and was an over-the-air music-video outlet.

In the 1990s, WBXK was affiliated with The Jukebox Network, which was renamed The Box in 1991. The station's "programming" was basically music videos requested by viewers in Claiborne, Copiah, Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Simpson, Warren, and Yazoo counties. (WBXK's signal had originally covered a 30-40 mile radius.) Several controversial videos could be had by WBXK: Sir Mix-A-Lot's Baby Got Back, 2 Live Crew's Me So Horny (as well as a few other 2 Live Crew videos), Jill Sobule's I Kissed A Girl, Bryan Adams' Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman, and even Madonna's Justify My Love.

On September 1, 1995, the station's call letters changed from W08CU to WBXK.

In 2001, WBXK remained a music video station even though it inevitably became an over-the-air MTV 2 affiliate. (In 2000, Viacom had acquired The Box and combined it with M2 to form MTV 2.)

In mid-January, 2005, WBXK had switched from MTV 2 and ran back-to-back informercials for about two weeks. On February 2, WBXK had finally made a true affiliation switch--from MTV 2 to Urban America TV (UATV). It was no longer a music video station.
