- On the 23rd of March 2004, the list of cryptography topics contained 319 cryptography-related articles; 85 of those were stubs (less than a 1000 characters long).
- On the 12th of April 2004, the list of cryptography topics contained 355 cryptography-related articles; 100 of those were stubs (less than a 1000 characters long).
- On the 3rd of May 2004, the list of cryptography topics contained 414 cryptography-related articles; 119 of those were stubs (less than a 1000 characters long).

- Note: It seems we are unable to use this author's photographic material — even under the US Fair use provision — as the author derives commercial benefit from their sale. The author was approached in April 2004 regarding incorporating his written material into Wikipedia under the GFDL but he declined.
Encyclopedia of Cryptography and Security
The Encyclopedia of Cryptography and Security is to be published by Kluwer sometime this year (2004) and has some top cryptographers contributing (e.g. Eli Biham writing Differential cryptanalysis, Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen writing Rijndael). They seem to be aiming at around 500 articles. It would likely be profitable to compare their coverage to Wikipedia's.
