Front Mission is a series of turn-based tactical strategy video games produced by Square, now Square Enix. It was started in 1995.

Front Mission's main draw is the use of giant mecha called "wanzers" (from the German "wandrung panzer", or walking tank) in battle. Five games in the series have been produced: Front Mission (SNES), Front Mission: Gun Hazard (SNES), Front Mission 2 (PSX), Front Mission: Alternative (PSX), Front Mission 3 (PSX). Two of the games in the series are departures from the regular gameplay: Gun Hazard was a side-scrolling action shooter and Alternative was a real-time action/strategy game. Toshiro Tsuchida is behind the Front Mission series.
