Rhyd Ddu is small village in Snowdonia, North Wales. It is well known as a popular starting point for walks up Snowdon (via the Rhyd Ddu Path), Moel Hebog and Yr Aran.

It is also the current terminal of the Welsh Highland Railway, which aims to extend to Porthmadog by 2009. The railways has helped the small shops in Rhyd Ddu become more profitable and has helped the economy.
