Julian Speroni (born May 18 1979 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentinian footballer who plays for Crystal Palace in The Championship. He wears the number number 27 shirt and is a goalkeeper.

He was bought by Iain Dowie from cash-strapped [[Dundee United F.C.|Dundee FC)in July 2004 for £500,000.

Although he was highly rated and being the regular first choice goalkeeper at the start of the 2004/2005 season he soon fell from grace and has been left on the bench for most of the season.

Speroni became a cult figure due to his cavalier style. He has often attempted to beat players using his feet, it doesn't always work and often ends up in an easy goal for the other side. It does make for good entertainment, however.

Sadly, however, these antics have cost him a place in the Palace first team, a place which is now occupied by Gabor Kiraly.
