Perm, Russia
Perm (Пермь, pop. 1,000,100 in 2002) is a city in Russia, on the banks of the Kama River, population over 1 million. It is also the capital of Perm Oblast. There is a large Rocket and Jet engine factory there.
Perm has been known since the 17th century. Town status since 1781. In 1940 – 1957 the city was named Molotov (Мо́лотов).
In 13th – 17th centuries Perm was the name of a large area approximately comprising the modern Perm Oblast and Komi Republic.
