John A. Bennett was a Private First Class in the US Army that was convicted of the rape and murder of an 11-year-old Austrian girl and was an inmate at the United States Disciplinary Barracks, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In 1961 he became the last person to be executed by the US Military.
