Canada Line
The Richmond-Airport-Vancouver Line ("RAV Line") is a proposed new line in the SkyTrain rapid transit system in Greater Vancouver, Canada. The line would connect downtown Vancouver to theVancouver International Airport and Richmond in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Construction
As of March 2004, three consortia were bidding for the line's construction contract. One of the three consortia includes Bombardier, whose advanced light rapid transit technology is already used on the SkyTrain's existing Expo and Millennium Lines.
Route description
The line's Vancouver section is projected to run in a tunnel under Granville and Davie Streets from Waterfront Station to False Creek, cross False Creek via bridge, then go in a tunnel under Cambie Street to 46th or 49th Avenue. From there, the line would be elevated to its southern termini, crossing the North and Middle Arms of the Fraser River via bridges.
