Lagging strand
In DNA replication, the lagging strand is the DNA strand that is replicated discontinuously from the 5' to the 3' direction of the original DNA. This original strand forms a replication fork. The leading strand from the replication fork goes from 3’ to 5’. The opposite strand of the replication fork goes from 5’ to 3’ and is called a lagging strand.
