Template:GBmap LEGOLAND Windsor is an amusement park in Windsor, Berkshire in England, with a LEGO theme. The park is owned by the LEGO Group. The park was built on the site of Windsor Safari Park and opened in 1996, and is mainly appealling to the 2-12 year old audience, although all ages are welcome.

The Beginning

This is where you begin your journey, here you can pick up your park guide and find many needed facilites.

Attractions found here

  • Needed Facilities - toilets, baby changing, wheelchair and pushchair hire, locker hire.
  • Lego Rocket Racers - Children can design their own 'virtual' Lego racing car and race them against opposition.

Imagination Centre


This is where the children's minds go to work, with areas to build almost anything with rooms of Duplo and Lego. You can take an excellent view of the park on the Sky Rider, offering excellent scenery views. This area is also home to the 'Imagination Theatre' providing 4D films on the Lego Racers.

  • Build & Test Workshops - Areas filled with Duplo and Lego which provide tools and stimulus for creative play. It now also includes LEGO MINDSTORMS, where children can build Robots that they control.
  • Space Tower - Here you can 'pull' yourself up the tower, and then absail down passing a massive seven-metre high, animated dinosaur.
  • Sky Rider - A monorail, touring the scenic views of the park itself.
  • Imagination Theatre - A theatre providing short videos. Currently Showing 'LEGO RACERS 4D'.


Miniland


'Around 35 Million Lego bricks have been used recreate scenes'. This area is sometimes known as "World In Miniture". It recreates scenes from London, Amsterdam, Edinburgh and Paris, all bustling with sounds, traffic, trains and boats. It has had 100 model-makers and has taken three years to create.


Duplo Land


This area is aimed torwards the younger children, offering rides, activites and shows. It offers a complete discovery system based on four incredible play worlds, featuring bold and bright colours.

  • The Fairy Tale Boat Ride - An exciting and enchanting boat ride through Fairy Tale Brook.
  • Whirly Bird Helicopter Rides - Here children can pilot their own heliceopter.
  • Young Adventure Playground - Play area for children.
  • The Duplo Train - Come here to ride the DUPLO train.
  • Willow Stage - Regular puppet shows, are shown here for young children.

Wild Woods


This area is aimed at an older age group. Based on pirates, this area has panning for gold and the famous and popular Pirate Fall log flume.

  • Pirate Falls Log Flume - Log flume for children, must be accompinaed by an adult.
  • The Rat Trap - Adventure playground for the older children.
  • Panning For Gold- Pan for gold, and win prizes and a certificate.
  • Three Different Mazes - Three different mazes to get lost in!


Traffic


Maybe one of the most famous areas of LegoLand Windsor, Traffic. Here you can take part in Driving Tests, Boating School and Balloon School.

Attractions Found Here:

  • Driving School (For 6-13 Years Old) - Drivers get to watch the 'Rules Of The Road' and then take to the wheel of the LEGO cars. They get to drive it around the LegoLand driving course full off buildings and traffic lights. When the tests are over children get presented with a certificate.
  • L-Drivers (For 3-5 Years Old) - This is for the younger age group, and have smaller and non-battery powered cars.
  • Boating School - Here children get to take control of LEGO boats. They get to take the Helm of the boat, neogotiate arounds buoys, over rapids and avoid other boats.
  • Balloon School - You get to take a 40ft ride into the sky in a hot air balloon, this provides an excellent view.

My Town


The area of 'My Town' boasts the Harbour and the Lighthouse. This produces excellent family shows, with fun-packed acrobatics and LEGO hero, Johnny Thunder. This also includes the 'Big Restaurant' with a newly refurbished eating center. You can ride the Orient Expedition providing excellent scenic views. There are also a selection of Fairground Rides.

  • Harbour and Lighthouse - Live shows are offered here, for the visitors of the park at various times.
  • Big Restaurant - Here lies the 'Big Restaurant'. It has recently been refurbished. You'll find a great selection of hot food, salads, sandwiches and delicious desserts to cater for all of the family. The aquatic scenery inside will amaze you - there are fish tanks, LEGO coral and even a giant LEGO fish.
  • Orient Expedition- Train ride provided for all the family, travelling around the park.
  • Fairground Rides - Here are some of the grounds fairground rides with some coin operated machines.

Knights Kingdom


A massive extension to the LegoLand park, with castles, knights and dragons. It hosts two of the major dragon rides in the park, that are very popular with children. There is a gift shop and areas to sit and relax.

  • Two Major Dragon Rides - These rides are popular with the visitors of the park.
  • Gift Shop - Offering memrobillia from LegoLand and Knights Kingdom memrobillia and merchandise.


Adventure Land


The newest area and extension to LegoLand, with the Trill Seekers favourite Wave Surfer and the brand new Jungle Coaster, the fastest and coolest ride in the Park with lots of sharp twists and turns coupled with a top speed of 60 km/h and a 42 foot (13 m) drop. There is also 24 ft (7 m) climbing wall within the park.

  • Wave Surfer Ride - This ride is faster than it looks and observers can try and fire water at the riders during their ride.
  • Jungle Coaster - Very neat and extravagant ride. One of the most popular rides.
  • Climbing Wall - Children can climb 24 ft (7 m) in the air, with the aid of trained surpervisors.

Various Park Information


Opening Times

10am to 5pm, extending to 7pm during English school summer holidays. The Park is closed on selected days in March, April, May, September and October so please check Legoland’s confirmed operating calendar prior to your visit.

Price

Admission prices for the 2005 season are as follows: 1 day ticket: Adults £24, Children (3-15) & Seniors £22. 2 day ticket: Adults £47, Children (3-15) & Seniors £43. Children 0-2 are FREE. Annual passes also available.

Awards

LEGOLAND is geared towards ensuring that everyone is able to enjoy a fun-packed day. Since opening in 1996 the Park has won many prestigious awards. It was voted Best UK Attraction for Children 2002 by readers of Group Leisure Magazine.
