Cabo Pieter Boreels is the original name for New Zealand's North Island promintory now known as Cape Egmont (located on the west coast in the province of Taranaki). Dutch explorer Abel Tasman bestowed the name during his voyage of discovery in 1642.

(note: of all of the names bestowed by Tasman on New Zealand landmarks during his 1642-43 voyage, only Cape Maria van Diemen and Three Kings Islands have endured).
