Cultural references
- All of the first names of the people who get killed in this film are taken from famous actors from that time period. Most of them based on Brat Pack actors, and also after director John Hughes.
- The film makes references to the Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror franchises. On the film's poster, a woman is seen carrying a backpack with a hockey mask like that worn by Jason Voorhees and the glove of Freddy Krueger. Characters in the movie even appear dressed up like horror icons Jason, Freddy, and Leatherface.
- At the beginning of the film, when Phoebe is telling the story of Angela Baker, she says that 30 kids were killed in the previous film, that's why the camp closed down.
