Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers is a 1988 sequel to the movie Sleepaway Camp, written by Fritz Gordon and directed by Michael A. Simpson. It stars Pamela Springsteen, Renée Estevez, and Tony Higgins.

Synopsis

A sequel to the popular cult movie Sleepaway Camp, this film takes place 5 years after the original where the terrible murders that occurred are now a favourite camp story at Camp Rolling Hills. This time around, Angela (now a post-operative transexual) has just been released from a mental hospital due to good behavior and is a counselor at the camp and ready to discipline any of the naughty campers who don't do as she says.(It is mentioned that she was found not guilty by reason of insanity and as a result was sent to a mental hospital instead of prison.)

Cultural references

  • All of the first names of the people who get killed in this film are taken from famous actors from that time period. Most of them based on Brat Pack actors, and also after director John Hughes.
  • At the beginning of the film, when Phoebe is telling the story of Angela Baker, she says that 30 kids were killed in the previous film, that's why the camp closed down.
