The NakedNews ([1]) is a Canadian news program, originally solely on the Internet but now available as broadcast television as well. Its major claim to fame is that the news anchors (now solely female although NakedNews previously had a male program as well) disrobe, ultimately to full nudity, while delivering the days' news. It is, however, a serious news program, and the anchors are all very professional and poised in delivering the news, adopting a tone that might easily be found on a regular network newscast. There are a variety of segments in each days' program, although top categories such as North American News, International News, Sports, Entertainment, and Weather are usually included. The presenters undress even while covering very serious topics such as war, natural disasters, and crime in which very real suffering is described--they are, however, quite respectful and apart from the fact of being undressed, give such stories the dignity they deserve. The focus is on the days' news, not on the presenters' state of undress.

The anchors tend to be attractive, but not necessarily movie-star gorgeous, women in their twenties, thirties, and forties. Although most do not have prior news media experience, they do tend to be intelligent, educated women who simply are comfortable working in the nude. Lead anchor Victoria Sinclair has been with the program since its inception in 1999, although she took a break following the 9/11 attacks because she simply did not feel up to delivering the news nude following that tragic event.

NakedNews appears to be based on an earlier Russian news program called Golaya Pravda (the Naked Truth) on which Ukrainian actress Svetlana Pesotskaya undressed to deliver the news.
