Shortcut

This page is a place to list foreign language articles on the English Wikipedia, to see if they can be translated before they are listed on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion. If someone speaks the language the article is written in and can state that it is not worth translating, the item should be moved to VfD.

If the article is a mere copy of (all or part of) an article in a foreign-language Wikipedia, it can just get added to Wikipedia:Candidates for speedy deletion: we want to discourage people who cut articles from one Wikipedia and paste to another without translating. If the intent is to ask for a translation, the correct place to do that is Wikipedia:Translation into English.

If an article has been listed here for two weeks and is still untranslated, it should be moved to VfD. When moving items to VfD, the boilerplate text on the article should be changed from {{notenglish}} to {{subst:vfd}} and the other deletion steps should be carried out.

When listing a page here, you might want to find the Wikipedia:Embassy or Ambassador member of the Wikipedia that relates to the language the article is in and invite them to move the page to their own Wikipedia. If you don't even know what language the article is in you could use Language recognition chart and if that fails some language recognition web site, such as xrce, or languid.cantbedone.org to find out. Please leave a note on this page if you do this to prevent duplication of messages. If you have come here from another Wikipedia, please note on this page what you think should be done with the article.

It doesn't look like Arabic to me; I know a little Arabic, not enough to read it but usually recognize it, and it just looks wrong.

Bulgarian; I think it is the name of a TV program, possibly broadcast by a station under the same name СКАТ. I checked in the Bulgarian wikipedia and as far as I could tell, they do have articles on СКАТ but none touches the topic of this article, which appears to be an analytical of the neo-fascist political trends and forces in Bulgaria promoted by this program. The text of the pre-Basque version of the article was "Amezketa is a city in Guipúzcoa, Spain." So the Basque text (in translation) would appear to be relevant - unless the village is just too small/un-interesting to be notable. It's the title of a book. My Chinese isn't very good, but the use of 俺 as the first person pronoun - and it's frequent use - makes me think it's somebody's book report - somebody from the north writing in a fairly informal style.
My Chinese really sucks, so I may be way off, but the author seems to think the book is pretty politically provocative and is not impressed by the contents or message. I suspect the text is too POV to use in translated form - it certainly is very critical - and the first person tone is certainly unacceptable, but I lack the Chinese to be sure of my judgement. --Diderot 22:17, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is in Simplified Chinese from Mainland China. Kind of book summary. political wise, I dont recommend for a translation.

Oops. Sorry, I'm an unregistered Wiki newbie and initially replied to this on the article's talk page rather than here as I ought to. The article in question may need cleaning up, but should be handled by someone familiar with the subject matter, as it appears to me that what seemed like "poor translation" to the person who flagged the article may be perfectly coherent after all. The article is refering not to any digimon toy at all, but to a character featured on the television show itself. ToyAgumon is, in fact, the name of a Digimon character, and completely distinct from Agumon.

I hope I didn't misformat this.

Unfortunately, it has not been translated per se... the original article has been posted in English (albeit broken a bit worse than mine :). Someome who attempted to translate the article simply removed what he thought to be foreign words, which in fact are the whole reason for the article to have been created in the first place: they are the names for famous Takht-i-Suleiman Zoroastrian fire temple listed by UNESCO as World Herigate. Whew! Lucky us, thanks to Celestianpower this note reached here for a peer review. I worked a bit on "restoration". Don't know exactly what language the title is in.
