Rewrite...

I just rewrote large parts of the article. I removed several things from this page, including tips and character guides. I feel there's no need for such things here on Wikipedia, but if someone finds the necessary, by all means, put them back in. -- 80.203.139.70 13:02, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Just redirect users to Sleepywood which is the most popular fan forum on maple story. Check the external links section in the arcticle.

Keylogging scam

Can we get more information on this keylogging scam? Mr. Billion 08:30, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Also, could we plz put back the scam infos?

Character Classes

I couldn't remember all the 2nd jobs...someone else can please fill in the rest?

1 job advance is called for each classes are Warrior, Thief, Archer, and Magician.

Each class of jobs has different 2nb job advance names.

Warriors goes to Spearman, Page, or Fighter

Archers goes to Crossbowman or Hunter

Thieves goes to Bandit or Assassin

Magicians goes to Fire Wizard, Ice Wizard or Cleric.

~In Game Name in MS (IGN in MS): Mandraken

A good question to ask is "Which class of characters should I start with when playing Maple Story?" Well, if you are just starting out, go warrior. Warriors get High HP and out kill characters in lower levels between 10 and 30. Magicians and Thieves are a little hard to work with especially when you don't have enough MESOS (currency in maple story) to support them. Archers well, can't kill Pigs or Pig Ribbons in the begining because they need feathers to make arrows. A level 15 archer can do better once a player can get them that high. So, you can start off with a warrior, earn some mesos then start a second character to support it. Best to stick to one character and play with it through out the game. That way, when the one main character is high enough, you can support your lower level characters better.

Wise idea?

Think it would be wise to put common builds for the main classes and possibly a price check session in here? It would be nice if we can have a quick reference of the price of ores or scrolls. Equips are usually common sense and doesn't really matter except for the weapons. EDIT-- I should note that I added a bit of hacking vs lagging at the tail of the article.

To Prod-Me

You don't have to do all the work. Sleepywood on the external links has the common builds for the 4 main character types. The prices of ores depends on The Law of Supply and Law of Demand. If you need a quick references of prices of equipement, weapons, scrolls, and other things in the game, visit Hidden Street on the article external link section which gives a good database of items, quests, and maps.

I did a simple common builds for Warrior, Thief, Magician, and Archer characters. The warrior guide was written by a friend of mine. I did manage to get the thief build with 3 types of thieves. Normal Thief, STR thief, and Throwing Thief. You can find the desciption of the simple 1st job builds at the following my follow page. Check the external link section.

What to Clean/Keep

Heres just some stuff to discuss as i was looking through the previous edits...agree or disagree....

fan sites: these should be kept in their own heading under external links, get rid of them as they die, but keep them somewhere

Character Build Guides: these shouldnt be here, thats what fan sites are for

Character Skill List (not guide): should be listed, possibly with pictures (copyright?) and descriptions there are websites with this info, perhaps only a link is enough (though i think the actual info would be better)

Character Equips: similar to skills, though there are so many it would be a waste of space to put them here.....link is probably good enough

Formatting could also use a bit of work....but thats for another day Prod-Me

p.s. To add your name to the end of your edits, use three tilde's (~)

To Prod-Me

I will remove the links from the previous edits and just mention to look at the external links on the arcticle tab. By the way, I don't have a wiki account yet and just included my in game name in maple story incase someone finds thier way here. I will use the tilde's think if it makes you happy.

~Mandraken from Maple Story.

I mentioned that since i see a fair number of your replies, and im just having trouble separating question from reply. Yes it would make me happy :D I also heard that they may be tightening up security (ie to stop all the vandalism) so people like you who actually contribute usefull info should be able to show that they are helping Back on topic: Whoever put that login image on the first page left their username in it. It looks like the beta screen, but i dont believe in displaying user names...(especially with all that talk of hacks and stuff) Prod-Me

To Prod-Me

I am looking back and you are right. I am having trouble seperating your questions from my replies. So, to help both of us out, I did a "To Prod-me" to indicate where my reply is. I can go back and modify some of your comments and replies so we can format them later. I did clean up the character class discussion better. What do you think of the look?

Looks ok to me Prod-Me

Sleepywood.net

Why does the sleepywood link keep getting removed? its one of the biggest community forums for globalMS. Same person has removed it twice now. Please say why you keep removing it. Should we keep some of the smaller ones (that new 6jkmaple one) or stick to the major websites?Prod-Me

To Prod-Me

Having the fan sites is good. Gives the person recognition for their work and dedication to the game. Most of the fan sites have a desciption of how to build the 4 types of characters in the game. Yeah, keep the Major sites and fan sites seperated. That is a good idea.

~Mandraken from MS

I noticed that one of them is yours, but yes i do agree. Prod-Me
