She also has a not-so-secret crush on him. She is a self proclaimed klutz near that of Usagi Tsukino of Sailor Moon, and she freely admits that she has trouble with various academic subjects. Her favorite hobby is to draw faces on fruits. She also is in the chorus club.
In the English version of the series, Suzy is voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey. In the Japanese version, Suzume is voiced by Tomoko Akiya.
Kane
Kane, known in Japan as Tsuyoshi Kaneyama, is a bully at Kiyo's school, though later episodes show that like Kiyo, he is learning to change his ways. He appears in Episode 1 of the series.
In the English version of the series, Kane is voiced by Crispin Freeman. In the Japanese version, Kaneyama is voiced by Wataru Takagi.
Hana Takamine and Seitaro Takamine
Hana Takamine is Kiyo's mother, while Seitaro Takamine is Kiyomaro's father. Mr. Takamine is a professor of Anthropology (who is currently on a sabbatical in England), while Mrs. Takamine is a Japanese housewife. Both of them are very worried about their son's social ineptness, and both of them want him to become more sociable. Seitaro Takamine is the one who first saved Zatch in England, while in Japan, Hana Takamine is the one who takes care of both Zatch and Kiyomaro. Hana Takamine appears in the first episode of the series, while Seitaro Takamine appears in episode 20 (although his voice is heard as early as episode one).
In the English version of the series, Hana Takamine is voiced by Leslie Carrara and Seitaro Takamine is voiced by Phil Hayes. In the Japanese version of the series, Hana Takamine is voiced by Wakana Yamazaki and Seitaro Takamine is voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu.
Naomi
Naomi [2] is Zatch's biggest challenger off of the demonic battlefield. Her main goals in life seem to be preventing Zatch from making friends, beating up on Zatch, and basically causing as much emotional and physical pain as possible for the little demon. Yet, despite the seemingly endless list of evil qualities, Naomi does seem to have a few redeeming values deep down inside.
Naomi first appears in episode 4. In the English version of the series, she is voiced by Michelle Ruff. In the Japanese version, she is voiced by Shihomi Mizoaki.
Yuuta Akiyama
Yuuta Akiyama is a young boy that Kiyo and Zatch meet at the Mochinoki Hospital. He has broken his leg, and it has taken him an abnormal time to heal. When Kiyo makes a rather insensitive remark regarding this fact, Yuuta gets angry, and decides to take revenge by stealing Zatch's book. Yuuta appears in the sixth episode of the series.
In the English version of the series, Yuuta is voiced by Mona Marshall. In the Japanese version, Yuuta is voiced by Satsuki Yukino.
Ivy Kinoyama
Ivy Kinoyama, known in Japan as Tsukushi Kinoyama, is the caretaker of Mochinoki's Botonical Gardens. She has known Kiyo ever since Kiyo used her gardens as a refuge from the intense bullying he faced at school. Ivy's biggest regret is that she wasn't a better friend to Kiyo when he needed her. Ivy appears in the seventh episode of the series.
In the English version of the series, Ivy Kinoyama is voiced by Michelle Ruff. In the Japanese version, Tsukushi Kinoyama is voiced by Yuu Asakawa
Ponygon
Ponygon, known in Japan as Umagon, is the strange, little, horse-like creature who appears merely as a sort of non sequitur character early on in the series. He appears at odd moments, either aiding Zatch, or by popping up in unexpected places. Later in the series he is revealed to be a mamodo in search for his bookkeeper, and he eventually becomes Zatch's pet much to Kiyo's dismay at times (As Ponygon picks fights with Kiyo sometimes). Ponygon's real name is "Schneider", though no one knows this due to the fact Umagon can't say anything besides his trademark, "Meru-Meru-Mei!" neighing.
He was voiced by Dave Wittenberg in the English version and Satomi Koorogi in the Japanese version.
NOTE: Much of the voice acting information was obtained from either Nagibook's Japanese Character List [3] or Sampo's English Cast List[4]
