If you are aware of any former Iowa legislators who are in the news,
let me know and I'll try to get their Wiki-article going.

I'm an evangelical Christian from Boone, Iowa, currently in college, and majoring in Political Science and Philosophy.

To Do List

  • Continue making sure that House terms are listed for senators - noting that Joe Seng's isn't.
  • Make sure that House terms are completed for representatives - Wayne Ford's isn't.
  • Make Iowa legislature articles footnote formatted.
  • Double-check senators who are listed as serving only 2-year terms - Eg. Amanda Ragan.
  • Do the "born"s in the article text.
  • Do the alma maters in the infobox.
  • Find out inauguration dates and replace term starts/ends with them. Keep an eye out for those whose terms really DO start or end in unusual years (special elections/resignations).
  • Check Project Vote Smart for additional information on officials elected since 2006 (and maybe even 2004).
  • According to Template talk:Infobox Officeholder, common name should be used in infoboxes. Fix it so that full name is used in article and common name in infobox. Leave explaination in "reason" spot.
  • Check Wally Horn and see if he served in the Iowa House before 1972.
  • Make sure headers are in place for current/former Speakers, President of the Senate, etc. As well as Majority/Minority leaders. Sample is done for Mary Lundby. Note that sample is only for template on bottom, not for inbox.
  • Create decent articles for elected Iowa Cabinet officials.
  • Add the external links from the Senators' to the Representatives' pages.

Quotable Quote

  • "Excuse me," said Ransom. "But it is funny, you know. The idea of a man thinking he could become a saint as a minor detail in his scientific training. You might as well imagine you could use the stairs of heaven as a short cut to the nearest tobacconist's. Don't you see that long before you had reached the level of timeless experience you would have had to become so interested in something else - or Someone Else - that you wouldn't be bothering about time-travel?" Thanks for helping me out with the picture setup on the Potential third party candidates in the 2008 United States presidential election. Glad to have that for future reference! Umdunno 02:04, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
