Hi

My sample is feldspar ore from pegmatite, Malaysia. The sample contains 56% feldspar, 30% quartz and about 3% mica. The pure mica sample was analyse using XRF and XRD. The results of XRF show that both Fe2O3 and K2O content are about 2%. When this mica was analysed using XRD, the result had showed that the mica was illite. Physically this sample has a layered structure of aluminum silicate 'sheets'.

My question is what do we consider this mica? Is it muscovite or illite?
