Jean V de Bueil (1406-1477), called le Fléau des Anglais comte de Sancerre, vicomte de Carentan, lord of Montrésor, Château-la-Vallière, Saint-Calais, Vaujours, Ussé and Vailly, son of Jean IV de Bueil and Margarete Dauphine of Auvergne.

He was made captain of Tours in 1428, later captain general in Anjou and Maine. Together with Joan of Arc, he sucessfully completed the siege of Orleans. He participated in the battles as St. Jakob an der Birs and Castillon. He is the author of Le Jouvencel (ca. 1466), an autobiographical roman on the siege of Orleans.
