Great start, guys!

I like how you've set up the graphs and all that jazz, such as "total booty" for each of the contestants. It'll be easier to follow the show in the future with this in mind.

So far, the reception of the show has been pretty good, despite it sort of falling flat after the first expedition.

Again, good start and looking forward to future updates!Badgergrl04 19:17, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Legend of Henry Steel is fictional?

Can anyone verify that the Henry Steel part is fictional or not? Web searching gives me nothing not associated with the show, so it would seem to be something made up. --Masem 19:17, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arrr - found me a link that it's fictional here. I'll add it in as a reference. -- Ipstenu (talkcontribs) 19:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Weekly Crew Assignments

If this turns out to be permanent Survivors tribes, then we'll need to scrap that and probably port over the Survivor templates. If this changes weekly, then my formatting change should save us space. I hope. -- Ipstenu (talkcontribs) 20:12, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, that looks better and cleaner. It does sound like each week, new crews are formed at the present Captain's discretion, but we'll have confirmation next week.

However, even if it is Survivor tribe-like, I think that format works, you just can crossthrough eliminated players up until the next crew change. --Masem 20:15, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't make sense

It says that the contestants marked with a black spot don't vote, nor does the captain. So why didn't the officers vote? 3bay sam

Presumably, if all the votes are for the captain, then the two officers will vote yea or nay to mutiny. However, the rules aren't fully clear yet. Hopefully we'll see this part soon enough. --Masem 13:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Pirate master logo.jpg

Image:Pirate master logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:06, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Current Booty column - impossible to track?

I have a suggest that given how 'freely' money seems to be passed around and impossible to track accurately, I would suggest two possible remedies. Either we completely remove that column, or we track only gold that is won via the hunt (something factual) with a disclaimer that actual earnings are indeterminable due to the use of money as bribes/payoffs on the show and the lack of details of how it's spread around. I think the second option is still best as it gives you an idea of who's making off like a pirate on this show without introducing too much speculation. --Masem 03:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I second that idea. -- Ipstenu (talkcontribs) 13:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, it should be winnings only, not below-deck deals. The only case I think anything besides the standard division is if the captain publically reallocates some of his money during the division "ceremony" (ie: only takes 25% instead of 50%, splitting the rest among the crew). --Maelwys 13:27, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see someone pointed to the "Treasure Tracker" over at the PM wiki created by CBS as part of the Booty tally, but that falls into the same problem with verifibility since it is a wiki itself and thus falls under original research. I have no problem including a link to this on the page, but still feel that the only verifiable bits we can claim is what is immediately earned by the winning crew. --Masem 14:19, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking from experience of working with the people behind the scenes at the new CBS wikis, they don't monitor it half as well as we do here (don't get me started on their massive fair use violations, it's a wiki free for all over there). That information would only be acceptable if it came from the main CBS show page, not the wiki. -- Ipstenu (talkcontribs) 15:03, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could we at least speculate how much each person has, as they show on air that the captain gave two g's to the pawn leader and $200 to each loser on the red team? That way, we know what they're bartering with at least, or have a closer idea to it. I wish CBS would help out by saying in each episode how much each person's earned.Badgergrl04 17:18, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As soon as you say "speculate", it's off Wikipedia's radar. I know we saw moneys being transferred in the second episode, and we can quantify this, but I have a feeling that not all such deals will be that obvious. I think it's completely fair to point to the TT table at the CBS wiki as an alternate source. I still feel fine with just reporting the absolutely, by-the-rules winnings, because you at least get some idea of the distribution of wealth among players. --Masem 17:28, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, after the 4th episode, I'm almost in favor of just ditching the Booty money columns (though leaving the treasure amount), as it's becoming way too hard to tell who has what now. --Masem 03:59, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings/Viewer Response

We need a section on this to show whether the show was well-received by audiences and critics. Include some critic quotes too. --Imtiaz 5:56, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Crew of Captain Steel

One quick suggestion, to be honest i'm not sure about it myself. When they open a new compartment of the Chest of Zanzibar, their a little description of the pirate of the original crew that buried that part of the treasure. May there should be a little section about each crewmember. It might be good but i'm afraid it will make the page too big
