There may be overlappings with [NBA WikiProject]. But in any case, we would encourage our participants to collaborate with that specialized NBA WikiProject, which will further contribute to a better general coverage of all basketball on Wikipedia.

Baskretball is a varied game. Thus the areas of interest of this WikiProject are mult-faceted and will include, amongst others:

  • Amateur Basketball including High School Basketball, Minor Basketball leagues, Recreational Basketball.
  • Community Basketball. This would include Ethnic Basketball (e.g. Chinese-American Basketball, South-Asian American Basketball etc), Religious-based basketball (Church leagues, Muslim Basketball leagues, Jewish Basketball etc), YMCA Basketball, Deaf Basketball, GLBT Basketball, Prison Basketball, Military / Police Basketball, Midnight Basketball...
  • Country leagues and related national basketball teams (men, women, juniors)
  • College Basketball including NCAA, NCAA1 , 2 , 3 , NAIA, JUCO
  • FIBA - International Basketball Federation including the continental federations (FIBA Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania), World Basketball Championships, Continental and Regional Basketball Championships. Also to include basketball in the Olympics and in World Friendship Games
