In late 2006, rumors began circulating that Madonna was set to begin production on a new album. Stuart Price,[1] Madonna's producing partner, has confirmed that Madonna and he are at work on new material. On the London premiere for her film, Arthur and the Invisibles, Madonna confirmed that she hoped to start working on something new soon, and it could be "more dance".

In a February 2007 Sirius Satellite Radio interview to promote the Confessions Tour CD/DVD, Madonna announced that she will be working with Pharrell Williams on new material. Madonna will be also working with Timbaland, who discussed the collaboration in an interview with MTV News.[2] Felix Da Housecat was mentioned to have worked with Madonna on his album. Timbaland confirmed working with Madonna on March 13, 2007 on Chicago radio station B96. He revealed that he had met with Madonna and had an idea as to what they would do together. He also stated that he is currently laying down beats to the music she has already written and that they will enter the studio in late March, or early April.

Producer Swizz Beatz[3] recently announced his upcoming projects on a radio station. Amongst the collaborations revealed was Madonna.

Madonna was photographed entering a recording studio in London on February 19 2007.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Justin Timberlake and Timbaland will collaborate with Madonna for her new album. Madonna's rep would neither confirm nor deny the story. Madonna said in her Sirius Radio interview that Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds was one of the albums she was currently into.

Timbaland was quoted in early April saying, "I have a track for which I would need Madonna, so I perhaps will give it to her for her next album... she is dying to work with me and me with her. I wanted this track for my album but I don't have time. I will have time for her!"

Justin Timberlake is reportedly writing tracks for Madonna. "I have been working on some new music. But it’s not for myself - I’m writing for other people. I’m working on some stuff for Madonna." Timberlake was seen entering a London studio with Madonna on April 10, 2007.[4]

On April 11th 2007, British newspaper The Sun reported that Justin Timberlake is busy writing music for Madonna, for her new album which according to the paper is due out in November. The Sun says that this time her album will have a real hip-hop feel as she has lined up a Who’s Who of the genre’s megastars, including Timberlake’s producer pal Timbaland to help her achieve R&B credibility. Hip-hop legend Pharrell Williams is already working on at least four tracks and his fingerprints look set to be all over the new release. The Sun continues "There will also be some dancy Price-produced tracks on the new offering and she has also been joined by Chicago house DJ and producer Felix da Housecat in the studio. A source told The Sun: “Confessions was a worldwide smash — but this will be different once again. The last album was a credible disco record and Madonna wants to give hip-hop the same treatment this time. It’s not all hip-hop though, there are a lot of producers from a lot of genres in there. It could be her most ambitious project yet.”[5] Madonna's spokesperson confirmed the Timberlake story. The Sun Newpaper's 'Bizarre' Page (Victoria Newton) confirmed that Mika would be featuring on the album. [citation needed]

The Daily Mirror also added news to the development of Madonna's new album, when on April 13th 2007, Timbaland is quoted as saying that Madonna "really cracks the whip." The producer, who's masterminding Madge's new album with Justin Timberlake, has been working flat out. But taking a rare break at London club Funky Buddha, the 36-year-old told The Mirror: "We are working round the clock". Timbaland also revealed that there'll be no 80s disco tracks on the album and no purple leotard. "It's kinda like Holiday with an R&B groove." [6]

Sean Garrett revealed to E! News that he was working on a project with Madonna.

At the Shrek the Third premiere, Justin Timberlake revealed "She’s Madonna.... It doesn’t get any cooler than that! We actually wound up with 5 or 6 REALLY good songs, some unfinished, some finished and were gonna go back in July and finish some more stuff" Asked if he’ll be singing with her, Justin said "Possibly, yeah!"[7]

Madonna released a new single, "Hey You", produced by Pharrell Williams, in mid-May for Live Earth. Here is the link for "Hey You."[8] Each download of the new single goes to promote the Live Earth charity. Also two rumored tracks in the Magazine OK! were "Entertainer" & "Let Me Do It" [citation needed]
