Review

Harry does not pick Tru up as he was supposed to. But Tru has turned a new leaf and is not going to let little things bother her anymore. Tru and Jack offer to help Davis unpack his apartment for a guest he has coming over. Jack brings in a college student that was shot through the heart, Melissa, who asks for help. This time, Tru is very surprised that her day does not rewind. As she is telling this to Davis, she begins to wonder what she did wrong. The family shows up at the morgue to claim the body. The father cries over her and says that she was a good girl, a good student and he did not understand who would want to shoot her. Tru begins her quest to find out who killed Melissa and runs into Harry. At Davis’ apartment, Tru and Jack see all his books on death and un-box a picture in the Harbor Marina of a woman on a boat named “The Comet”. Jack asks Tru how come she does not know much about Davis. Back at the morgue, Jack brings in a man, Jeffrey, who committed suicide. He asks for Tru’s help and finally her day rewinds.

Tru wakes up to realize that her day rewound and she looks up some of the names on the guy’s business cards to find out about him. What she cannot figure out is how the two people are related. Jack walks in and once again asks Tru how she can heavily depend on a guy that she knows nothing about. Tru goes to meet Harry at the track and tells him to stay out of it today, as he lost a lot of money the first time through the day. Tru sends Harry to save Melissa while she goes to find Jeffrey. She tells Jeffrey that she is from the bank, and he promises her that he will have the money for them tomorrow. Harry tries to hit on Melissa and is turned down. Jack was curious and looks into what Tru was looking up on the computer, he sees the harbor Marina and looks up the owner of the boat. Tru follows Jeffrey to a high stakes poker game. She calls Harry and tells him to play in the game while she follows Melissa. She then goes to the track to win the money for Harry to play with. Davis finds out that Jeffrey has many names to avoid the creditors or to get other loans. Davis explains to Tru that in life and death there are mirror images, suicide and murder are just that. As Tru is following Melissa, she realizes the Melissa is going to the same poker game as Jeffrey. Harry tries to get Melissa to leave while Tru tells Jeffrey that she is his good luck charm. As Tru watches the game she notices that Harry pulls on his collar when he is bluffing and that is how Melissa is winning. Harry uses his “tell” to fool Melissa and wins all the money. When Melissa asks Harry to borrow it, he denies her and she leaves thinking he is a jerk. Jack finds out that Hayley Clark owned the boat. Tru makes sure that Jeffrey cashes out while he is ahead and sends him home in a cab. Harry goes to make things right with Melissa. Davis once again mentions the mirror images and implys that both victims may still die but in the opposite way this time. At Melissa’s dorm room, Harry finds a suicide note and calls Tru. Tru is still busy trying to track Jeffrey down as he did not go home and insists that Harry can save her. Harry talks Melissa out of jumping by offering his car and feels that all is well as he leaves. Tru walks in on Jeffrey being held at gunpoint for the money and helps him fight off the gunman. She then tells him that he should go home and tell his wife his secrets now that he has the money that he won, because Harry let him win, and fix his situation. On her way back to the office, Tru runs into Jack, who tells her that Davis was married and his wife died. Tru asks Davis about the picture she found and Davis tells her the story. He was supposed to meet his wife for their first anniversary dinner. When he got to his car, there was no gas in it and his tires were slashed. There was a crazy woman, Tru’s mom, telling him to call his wife that she was going to die and to keep her at home. Davis did not believe Tru’s mom, and his wife, Hayley Clark, did die that night. She had a seizure while driving, swerved over three lanes and was hit by an 18 wheeler. He also tells Tru that Davis is his middle name. Jack comes in asking for help with the body he just picked up on campus, a suicide. It is once again Melissa. Harry is devastated and Tru tries to console him. The family shows up at the morgue and the mother kept asking why, it was only money. She then tells Tru that a man called them to say that Melissa had lost all of her tuition to card games. While Tru and Davis is wondering who would call, we see Jack stroking the girls head as he puts her in the crypt.

This episode informs us a little bit more of all the main characters pasts and purposes. Davis was saved by Tru’s mom, and he was married. Jack, well we know he is up to something, but not what yet. There were once again many hints. Let’s go through some of them. Jack is repeating his words or the words of others again. Davis, through all his research found that life and death have mirror images. Jack caressing the girl’s head, well that just clued us in on who called, but left us wondering why. The next episode clues us in more, stay tuned.[1]
